Every year, October 16 marks World Food Day, an important time to reflect on the value of food, health and the universal right to adequate nutrition. Established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), this day draws attention to key issues such as food security, sustainable habits and prevention of diseases related to poor nutrition.
Nutrition is one of the basic pillars of health. Numerous scientific studies show that a balanced diet, rich in fresh, nutritious and varied foods, can not only promote general well-being, but also contribute significantly to the prevention of many diseases including obesity and overweight, type 2 diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular diseases, dyslipidemia (high cholesterol and triglycerides), and gastrointestinal diseases and metabolic disorders.
In contrast, poor dietary habits-such as excessive consumption of simple sugars, saturated fats, ultra-processed foods and salt-are now among the main risk factors for the development of these diseases.
Proper nutrition is not limited to counting calories or eliminating certain foods, but requires awareness, nutritional education, and attention to one's individual needs. Each person has unique characteristics related to age, health status, and lifestyle, and therefore deserves a personalized nutritional approach.
On the occasion of this special day, Life Clinic renews its commitment to community health and wellness by organizing a dedicated day with the collaboration of Dr. Arianna Rotasperti.
Access to the Open Day is free, but places are limited so reservations are required by contacting 035.0391364 or by writing to segreteria@life-clinic.it
